Episode 6: Disappearance in a Sandstorm

Sara is taken to another soldier's room. He tells her there is a canteen of water she can drink from after sex, Hamdo is trying to give birth to new soldiers. Something in Sara breaks-- she grabs the water canteen and beats the soldier. She then grabs his gun. as he tries to force smother her she beats him in the head with the butt of the gun. He falls dead on top of her. The soldier moves to get up and shrieking, Sara beats him to death with the gun, goes to the corner and vomits. She grabs the canteen drinks all the water. She then dresses in his clothes and is able to escape Heliwood.

Far from Heliwood, She slides down a sand dune, removes the soldiers clothing, leaving herself in a slip. She stares up at the moon in relief and determination, reaches down for the knife and cuts her hair short, the golden strands taking to the wind as she stares up after them. She begins to run wildly screaming in anger.

Tabur is yelling with Shuu about the pendent until Nabuca stops him. He asks Tabur why he is so irritated and tells Tabur he wish he'd die so he wouldn't have to deal with him. Nabuca offers Shuu water and tells Shuu those who don't fight don't deserve water or food.

Back in LaLa-Ru's room, Abelia offers her food which she refuses. She tells LaLa-Ru she hates her for being so close to Hamdo. LaLa-Ru finally speaks, telling Abelia she has no intention to destroy Heliwood but it will be destroyed. Abelia aims her gun at LaLa-Ru intending to shoot until Hamdo buzzes in one the intercom telling her it is time to destroy Zali Barth.

Shuu returns Nabuca's water, telling him he didn't drink any or drink water because he will not fight. Nabuca asks him if he understands what the expedition is for, and that it is worse than fighting. The soldiers bomb a village. As the tanks, robots, and infantry approach the villagers scatter. The village men try to stall the soldiers so the women and children can escape, and refuse the soldiers but the commander grows tired and shoot the men who resist. She comes from no where to help the shot men then goes to attack the commander, Nabuca tackles him and gun bucks him. He asks Boo to watch over him.

The soldiers go after the women and children, dragging the kids from their hiding places. Nabuca comes across a child and he begs Nabuca not to kill him and to let him go, but Nabuca refuses. He tells the boy if he comes he will be able to come home one day. He tells the boy he didn't want to go either and drags him off.

Shuu wakes up, attacks the soldiers and releases the children. Boo is unable to shoot him. Nabuca comes and shoots Shuu in the leg. He asks Shuu who will stop this madness and Nabuca flashes back to the day he nd Tabur were abducted and turns his head to look at Tabur, seeing how insane the war has made Tabur. Shuu tells them all they are insane, Boo stares down in shame...

As the soldiers march off into the distance, Nabuca looks up and sees the boy he captured staring blankly at him. Smoke arises from the village; the commander has blown it up.
