Episode 5: Murder

Sara is dragged out of her cell again and thrown into a soldiers room. It is the soldier that returned her handkerchief earlier. He asks he name, and she beats at the door. He tells her his name is Kazaam.

Abelia goes to report to Hamdo that the pendent has not been found. As she explains, Hamdo punches her to the ground. Horrified he kneels to her and caresses her face beginning for forgiveness. She apologizes for falling short of his expectations. She explains there aren't enough soldiers. Hamdo paces repeating いかん いかん and tells Abelia to go out on an expedition for more soldiers.

The drill instructor is giving the soldiers a pep talk. The begin sparing and Nabuca is paired with Shuu. Shuu refuses to take a knife, only his sword. Shuu fights blindly and yelling, as he did in the kendo match. Nabuca swings his knife but Shuu deflects it and head butts Nabuca to the ground. The instructor tells them to return to their ranks.

Where ever the Shuu sits to eat, the other soldiers move away. At last Nabuca and Boo come to eat with him. In the same way as Oda, Nabuca lectures Shuu on proper offense and defense instead of rushing blindly in. Shuu asks if he is related to Oda.

LaLa-Ru suddenly awakes and seems sick, clutching at her neckline and choking.

Two Zali Barth soldiers stealthily run down the walkways. The alarm sounds and Abelia's voice comes over the intercoms, telling the soldiers o prepare for combat.

The Zali Barth soldiers are trying to assassinate Hamdo. One is shot and tells his alley to run as Abelia bangs on the door. Hamdo is cowering under his desk. Hamdo shoots repeatedly at the wounded assassin telling him that bugs like him will never take his life. He then tells Abelia to find and kill the other assassin. Hamdo begins to make shrill noises and he kicks the corpse.

The soldiers search for the other assassin. Boo finds the assassin first and is taken hostage. Shuu rushes in with his stick and knocks the knife from Boo's hand. Nabuca goes to shoot the assassin but Shuu knocks him away. Nabuca finally kills him. Shuu runs to the dying man telling him not to move but Nabuca puts a bullet through his head, splattering Shuu with blood. Shuu turns to look at Nabuca and attacks him seething with rage, but he sees Nabuca shaking terribly.

Elsewhere LaLa-Ru is hunched over, shaking as if she were crying. Outside a sandstorm rages.

The soldiers are being sent out to gather more soldiers. Looking out the window of her cell, Sara sees the soldier who raped her first and turns her head sobbing.
