Episode 4: Discord

Abelia is taken by the sound of a buzzer. She answers it and on the other side Hamdo tells her that he believes Shuu really lost the pendent and tells Abelia to have the soldiers immediately search the base for the pendent.

A soldier comes in and drags an unconscious Shuu out of his cell. He is put onto a bunk in the soldiers quarters-- Shuu is to become a soldier in Hamdo's army. Tabur mocks Nabuca by saying Shuu may be a stronger soldier than Nabuca. Boo is charged with looking over Shuu. The rest of the soldiers begin the search, areas are marked off as they are searched by Abelia. Hamdo buzzes Abelia asking if the pendent has been found, Hamdo tells her that they need to gather more soldier. He tells Abelia she is the only one he can depend on.

Hamdo is raving about war and the pendent to an unfazed LaLa-Ru again. He hovers over LaLa-Ru asking her what he should do for fun while they search for the pendent...

Shuu awakes with a start and yells for LaLa-Ru. Boo tried to stop Shuu from going after LaLa-Ru and Nabuca appears knocking Shuu back into bed with the butt of his gun. He tells Shuu is a Heliwood soldier from here on out.Before he leaves, he tells Boo to shoot Shuu if he moves.

One of the soldiers come into Sara's prison while searching, picks up her handkerchief and leaves it near her when he sees Sara draw away. He leaves the cell, staring at Sara with sympathy.

Abelia tells the soldiers to go eat then continue the search.

Shuu moves and Boo says he'll shoot but Shuu doesn't believe him. He asks Boo why he is a soldier, and Boo tells him that Nabuca told him that if they are good soldiers they can go back home when the war ends. Nabuca comes in with Shuu's food. Shuu makes a horrible face but eats. To take the taste out of his mouth, he drinks all the water but cannot get anymore because there isn't enough water to spare. Nabuca tells Shuu he doesn't owe him anything for saving his life, but Shuu barely remembers him. Shuu says he will save LaLa-Ru and Nabuca tells him not to do anything stupid because he wants to go home after the war.

In the cafeteria the soldiers thank Hamdo for the food in a mock prayer and begin eating. The soldiers discuss the pendent and Tabur says they will beat the information from Shuu, but Boo overhears his plans.

Tabur and the others get up and kidnap Shuu during the night. Tabur makes a sling with a rock and beats Shuu with it. As Tabur draws back again, Shuu pushes forward and the rock comes loose and hits him. Tabur draws his sword and goes to Shuu but the light comes on and Nabuca stops him. The drill sergeant appears behind Nabuca suddenly and the boys and Tabur are punished in front of the other soldiers by a whipping. The sergeant gives Shuu the whip to beat them but he refuses saying he wont fight someone who can't fight back. This takes Boo and Nabuca aback, the sergeant punches Shuu and beats the Tabur and the others himself. Nabuca and Shuu talk, Nabuca tells Shuu that Tabur was from the same village as he was. The soldiers gathered the boys to become soldiers and those who ran where killed. He warns Shuu not to run.
